 The
Gitarama Telecenter is located on the Southern peripheries
of the Town of Gitarama. Edward the CIC partner is a Technician
with business experience.
In his plans he is committed to the provision of the following
services:
- Internet Surfing;
- Photo and Document Scanning;
- All sorts of PC based Printing;
- Word Processing;
- Photocopying;
- Public Telephone and Fax Service;
- Training in Ordinary Desktop Software Applications; and
- More specialised Software Application Training.

 However,
some of the Services above are yet to be introduced. The Local
Telephone Company has failled to allocate lines for Public
Telephone and Fax and the only organisations with capacity
to utilise Specialized Software Application Development and
Training have not yet seen the benefits of ICT.
Felix is the Manager for Gitarama Telecenter. Although he
handles Internet Connectivity and Secretarial Services, he
also delivers training in ordinary Microsoft Desktop Applications
Training.
Technical matters are handled by Mr. Barema himself.
On the day the Gitarama Telecenteral opened, so much enthusiasm
was exhibited by young men and women and Mr. Barema had to
buy at least an extra wooden stool for each Pc and a bench
to accommodate those waiting for a free PC. It is quite common
for local professionals, teachers and students to request
to pair to utilise 15 Min connection (Frw 100=15 USD$) to
check on e-mail 60% of which is Yahoo Mail.
