The Nyanza Telecenter Building shown here is separated from the trading center market by this (rather washed) gravel street.

From this Street Building, Mr. Kamanzi, the CIC partner is planning to establish and maintain the following:

  • Internet Cafe Services;
  • Secretarial Services;
  • MOUS Training;
  • Computer Maintenance (Hardware and Software);
  • Programming and Web designing;
  • Database Creation and Management;
  • Translation Services;
  • Language Training (English and French);
  • Photocopying, Binding, Fax; and
  • Scanning services.

Occasionally, the Project Coordinator is able to marshal the interest and good will of high-level personalities. In August, the Presidential Advisor on ICT and the Executive Head of the Nation's Number One ICT Organ visited dot-ORG's Telecenters in Nyanza and Gitarama.

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz Kamanzi is an academic turned enterpreneur. He qualified as a teacher in Burundi in 1981, obtained a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science in Benin in 1988. He has worked in several countries not only as a teacher but also a journalist, a translator (Fluent in both English and French), and more recently in the computer industry as a Webmaster, a programmer and a Database specialist. Now he manages the Nyanza Telecenter and has shelved all other activities except those centered at this Community Internet Center.
